CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Board: An Easy Yet Challenging Paper
My brother is in Class 10, and he received Set 3 for the CBSE board mathematics paper. He mentioned that all the questions were from the NCERT text, with just a couple being a bit tricky. Overall, he felt the paper was quite nice and not as difficult as he had anticipated. This exam experience is particularly relevant for students preparing for the upcoming CBSE Class 10 mathematics board exams.
Overview of the CBSE Maths Board Paper 2019
The CBSE board mathematics paper for 2019 was notably easy, at least for those who had prepared diligently. My brother received Set 1, which he described as primarily based on the NCERT and most fundamental concepts. A few questions were a bit out of the ordinary, requiring some additional thought and application. Overall, it was a fairly straightforward paper.
The Moderation of the Question Paper
This year's question paper was quite moderate. Students who had thoroughly solved either RS Aggarwal or NCERT along with sound revisions would not face any difficulty in scoring a decent grade. A significant number of questions were either from RS Aggarwal or NCERT with slight modifications. The CBSE board is known for including 10 to 15 Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions annually. This year was no exception, as there were two or three such questions that could prevent achieving the highest score.
Examination Strategy and Preparation Tips
Proper examination strategy is crucial for achieving the highest score. My advice to students has always been that merely working hard is not enough; they must manage their time and practice extensively before the exams. I recommend practicing at least 15 to 20 sets of past papers, which will help them in effective time management during the actual exam.
My School Experience
The mathematics examination at my school was fairly easy and not overly lengthy. It had a couple of tricky questions but overall, the questions were not too difficult. I am not expecting full marks but am confident of securing at least an A1 and possibly above 85 out of 90.
